The Heart of the Journey
There is a story unfolding in the shadow.
Psalm 91 begins with an invitation to dwell—to make our home in the presence of the Most High and abide beneath His shadow.
That image became the heart of Held in the Shadow.
Because perhaps the shadow isn't simply a place we run to when we need protection. It is a place to live from.
A place where we learn His voice. Where our perspective changes. Where questions can exist alongside faith. Where we learn to discern what is true, recognize what is healthy, love people well, receive grace, grow, heal, and become more fully who God created us to be.
This journey isn't only about what God brings us through.
It's also about what He creates within us while we stay close to Him.

The Journey

Tracy McElhaney
I didn't begin with a podcast. I began with a question.
What happens while I stay close to Him?
My own life has included seasons I understood and seasons I didn't. I've experienced change, loss, questions, healing, growth, and moments when I had to learn to trust God without knowing exactly what came next.
Along the way, my faith became less about having every answer and more about learning where to remain.
Close to Him.
I've begun to see that God is present not only in the dramatic moments of our stories, but in the quiet becoming that happens between them—in conversations, relationships, decisions, questions, ordinary days, and unexpected new places.
Held in the Shadow grew from that discovery.
I'm not here because I have everything figured out. I'm here to have honest conversations about what we're learning along the way—and to keep discovering what God can do in us and through us when we choose to dwell close to Him.
This is life lived close to Him.
This is what happens in the shadow.
